Neda was shot in the chest on June 20, 2009, while observing the protests in the street. Her death was captured on amateur video, and she became a symbol for the struggle.

Mohammad was arrested on July 9th, 2009. He died in a hospital on the 16th of July, 2009 of wounds inflicted upon him while in detention.

Post graduate of science and Technology University in Chemistry. According to reports, Kianoush was arrested on June 15, 2009 and was found in a morgue on June 24, 2009. He played the Tanbour, a traditional Iranian instrument. His video on youtube playing the Tanbour was widely circulated after his death.

Graduate student at Tehran University, Mostafa was reportedly killed while chanting on the roof of his student apartment, by a sniper shot to the head. Mostafa reportedly died in his fathers arms. Other reports suggest that he was killed during the attacks on student dormitories on June 14th and 15th, 2009.

Naser was an aerospace student at Tehran university. Most reports suggest that he was killed during the attack on the Tehran University dormitories on the night of Wednesday, June 14 2009. At least one report disputes that account and instead puts the cause of his death as injuries he sustained from being shot during street protests on June 15, 2009. His body was buried in his home town, one of the villages in the city of Yasouj on June 19, 2009.

Javadifar was arrested in July 9, 2009. He died days later while still in detention. Amir was a student of industrial management in Azad university of Qazvin.

29 year old reporter for Abrare Eqtesadi newspaper; died June 15 of a brain hemorrhage after a severe baton blow to the head. His body was not given to his family until July 13. Reporters Without Borders announced him as the first journalist to die in the course of the crackdown launched by the Iranian authorities.

Son of Mehdi. He was on leave from military service when he was shot three times and killed in Tehran during the second week of street protest (Jun 19 to 26, 2009). He was buried in Tehran’s cemetery Behesht e Zahra Plot 257, row 46 number 32.

Rouholamini, Mohsen

Mohsen was a graduate student in computer engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Tehran. His father was a high-ranking official in the Ministry of Health, and an adviser to defeated presidential candidate Mohsen Rezaee. He was arrested on July 9, 2009, and transferred to Evin prison. He died in prison. His body was reportedly bearing marks of torture and ill-treatment.

Amirhossein, a father with a seven-year-old daughter, disappeared on June 15. After searching Tehran hospitals for a week to no avail, his distraught family identified him among photos of corpses at the coroner’s office. Marks on his corpse included a deep gash in the head, a broken arm, and gunshot wounds in the arm, but the exact cause of death was unclear.

Mahmoud was a woodworker (?). He was attacked by militia while returning home from work on June 15, 2009. He suffered extensive injuries, but managed to return home to his wife. Fearing arrests, he did not go to the hospital for 12 days. On day 12, his family decided to take him to the hospital, but they were turned away and told to go back tomorrow. On the morning of day 13, his wife found him dead.

Professor of Shahid Chamran University in Ahwaz, was shot in a rally in Baharestan square. He died during transfer to one of the hospitals in Tehran. His body was later transported home by one of his friends and returned to his family in Ahwaz. His funeral was held under observation of the security forces.

Mostafa Kiarostami, 22 was clubbed by Basij and plain clothes security forces in front of Tehran University during Friday prayer conducted by Hashemi Rafsanjani on July 22 so badly that he could not return home. He called his mother for help. The family retrieved him from the street and took him to Kasra hospital where he died the same day due to extensive brain injuries. His body was buried in Behesht Zahra cemetery on July 18. He was recently engaged to be married.
